GUJRAT, Aug 2: A Wapda line superintendent of Fatehpur sub-division was dismissed from service when he failed to convince his father to withdraw a civil suit against an XEN, Dawn learnt on Friday.

Sources said Wapda’s former employee Abdul Rashid had filed a civil suit against XEN Abdul Ghafoor Haral over some issue. The XEN had been forcing the complainant’s son, line superintendent Tahir Rashid, to ask his father to withdraw the case, they said.

When the complainant turned down the request of his son, the XEN got infuriated and dismissed him from service on corruption charges, they claimed.

The XEN has reportedly transferred another son of the complainant, who is a lineman, to Gujranwala.

When this scribe visited the division No 1 office, the XEN was not present in his room.
