MUZAFFARABAD, Aug 2: The secretariat of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly (AJK) has constituted two delegations, comprising 14 legislators and officials, to highlight the Kashmir cause and study the role and functions of the parliamentary committees of six developed countries.

According to two notifications, issued in the name of the AJK president by the secretariat, one delegation comprises Speaker Sardar Siab Khalid, Minister for Law and Local Government Raja Nisar Ahmed Khan, Minister for Industries Chaudhry Masood Khalid, Minister for Electricity Sardar Mir Akbar Khan, Privileges Committee Chairman Raja Abdul Qayyum Khan, opposition MLA Munir Awan and Legislative Assembly’s Secretary Sardar Mohammad Azam Khan.

The delegation will visit the United Kingdom, United States and Canada for 11 days at a cost of Rs2.3 million, which would be drawn from the assembly’s budget.

The other delegation comprises mainly the members of the Public Accounts Committee. It includes Deputy Speaker Sanaullah Qadri, PAC Chief Tariq Farooq, PAC member from the ruling party, Sardar Tahir Anwar; PAC member from the opposition, Sahibzada Ishaq Zafar; Finance Secretary Mukhtar Ahmed Khan, Accountant General A. U. Raza and the assembly’s additional secretary Ashiq Hussain Shah.
