LAHORE, Dec 12 The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has increased prize money for the Pakistan Premier League 2009.
The winners will now get Rs600,000 instead of Rs500,000, whereas the runners-up will pocket Rs400,000 instead of Rs300,000.
The third-placed team, used to get Rs200,000 previously, will now get Rs300,000.
The 182-match event comprising 14 outfits will conclude at Karachi's Peoples Sports Complex on Sunday.
The most valuable player will be honoured with a prize of Rs100,000 while leading goal-scorer and best goal-keeper will earn Rs50,000 each.
The amount of Rs50,000 will also be given to the best match commissioner and best referee.
The assistant referee will get Rs25,000 in the newly-introduced award.
Similarly, the winners of the Fair Play Trophy will get Rs100,000 instead of Rs50,000.
In addition to all, Rs4.55 million will be distributed among participants as bonus.
Each match has Rs25,000 as bonus, in which the winners have the share of Rs18,000 and the losers Rs7,000.
