KARACHI, July 30: Six vessels carrying 4,000 containers and other goods are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Wednesday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was active where all new arrivals as well as those awaiting berths were berthed. They are: Mar Challenger, Trade Eternity to unload and load containers, Jamillta to offload DAP fertilizer, and Ievoli Shine, to offload chemical.
Four ships, MSC Teresa, Iwato, Trade Maple and Ievoli Shine departed, while Fair Mare, Bow Marine, Mar Challenger, Global Prosperity and APL Jeddah are due to sail out on Wednesday.
Berth occupancy at the wharves was modest because of slow arrivals and fell to 33 and 37 per cent both at the oil piers and dry wharves respectively from the daily average of 50 per cent.
A total tonnage of 54,244 tons comprising 10,272 tons of export cargo including 1,282 tons of wheat and 43,972 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Wednesday: APL Jeddah, MOL Sincerity, Kota Wangi, Global Prosperity, Pacific Eagle and Lanka Mahapola, all with containers.
KARACHI, July 30: An oil tanker, Venture, carrying 54,317 tons of furnace oil was allotted berth at Fotco Oil Terminal during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.
Meanwhile, three more vessels, Nordmoritz with coal, Endeavor-II carrying furnace oil and Ievoli Shine to unload chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage. Ievoli Shine was expected to take berth at Multipurpose Terminal on Tuesday.
Thee ships, Spear-I, Venture and China Hope were busy in discharging edible oil, furnace oil and coal.
A cargo volume of 46,053 tons exclusively of import was handled.
Only one ship, Warbah sailed. Caribbean Frontier was due to arrive.
