U-15 event begins

KARACHI, July 29: The third phase of KCCA annual talent hunt programme of KCCA U-15 Inter-zonal cricket tournament was declared open at the National Stadium Sunday.

In all, over four hundred young cricketers in white dress attended the impressive opening ceremony.

Sixteen teams of seven zones are participating in the tournament which is being staged on a group league basis.

On the opening day, defending champions Zone-II Whites beat Zone-VI Blues by 28 runs.

ZONE-II WHITES 156 in 48.2 overs (Farhan Rafiq 36, Kamran Mushtaq 30 not out; Abdul Moeed 2-19 Imran Farooqui 2-54);

ZONE-VI BLUES 128 in 36.5 overs (Sharjeel Hussain 23; Azmi Lodhi 4-32, Farhan Rafiq 2-9, Saad Aslam 2-15, Shah Mir Khattak 2-26).
