KARACHI, July 29: The University of Karachi has set up a three-member committee to scrutinize and verify the degrees of candidates taking part in the October general elections in the country.

This was announced by a spokesman for the university on Monday.

The degrees will be sent by the Election Commission of Pakistan to the KU for final verification.

The committee, comprising Prof Abdul Azeem, Syed Khalid and Wahid Bux, will verify the degrees on a priority basis.

During the past five decades, the KU has awarded graduate and postgraduate degrees to over 2.5 million people.—APP
