HYDERABAD, July 28: Syed Ghaus Ali Shah and Mamnoon Hussain were elected unopposed president and general secretary of the Pakistan Muslim League-N, Sindh, at a convention held in Hala on Saturday.

Of 330 members of the party’s Sindh council, 220 turned up in the convention.

Saleem Zia was elected unopposed vice president.

Zahid Rafiq Butt was the chairman of the election commission.

Ghaus Ali Shah, who is in London, made a telephone call to Imdad Chandio, the acting president, Sindh PML, and asked him to continue in his absence.

The president, PML-N, labour wing, Sindh, Mohammad Afzal Gujjar, and central coordination secretary, Shabbir Ahmed, have congratulated Syed Ghaus Ali Shah and Mamnoon Hussain.

Adds our Naushahro Feroze correspondent: The elections of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), Naushahro Feroze district, were held here on Sunday.

Manzoor Mughal was elected as its president of the PML(N), Naushahro Feroze district and Sarfaraz Qureshi as its general secretary.
