KARACHI, July 28: The Election Committee (EC) of the Muttaheda Qaumi Movement on Sunday, released the lists of the final names of candidates aspiring to contest the intra-party election.

According to an MQM EC member, a total of 41 applications were received by the committee against some 25 seats of the Central Coordination Committee.

On the provincial level, some 14 candidates submitted their nomination for the seven-member committee for Punjab, while in Balochistan, 11 applications were received for five seats.

For the five-member committee of the NWFP, a total of seven candidates submitted their application, while in Karachi, a final list of some 16 candidates has been released by the EC of the MQM for an eight-member organizing committee.

Eleven candidates each would contest for the zonal committees of Mirpurkhas (six seats), Nawabshah (six seats) and Sanghar (five seats) respectively. —PPI
