SHO arrested for detaining youth

SIALKOT, July 27: On the orders of a local court, the Civil Lines police arrested the Phalora SHO for unlawfully detaining a youth in the lock-up here on Saturday.

SI Amanat Ali had detained Amjad Ali (27) for 28 days in the lock-up after kidnapping him from his house in Tharo Mandi village, Pasrur tehsil.

On a petition of Amjad’s mother, Rasulan Bibi, the judge summoned the SHO before court and ordered his arrest after he failed to give valid reason of detaining the youth.

He was sent to jail after registering a case against him under sections 342, 343, 344 PPC.

BAR STRIKE: On the call of the Punjab Bar Council, the local district bar association has observed a complete strike and boycotted courts in protest against the demolition of Phalia bar building.

In a press release issued here on Saturday, DBA president Azhar Chaudhry advocate demanded that a judicial probe should be ordered against the Phalia administration.
