GUJRAT, July 26: A bank manager of the HBL’s Narowali branch was kidnapped on Friday allegedly for ransom by four outlaws near Kahna, Kunjah.

Bashir Ahmad was on his way home by his car (FDK-69) when outlaws riding in a car without number plate intercepted him. Armed lawbreakers kidnapped him and also took away his car. Family sources believed that Bashir had been kidnapped for ransom for he had no enmity.

PML-QA: The party elections of the PML(QA) were held in the district and its three tehsils here on Friday.

Former MPA Chaudhry Wajahat Husain has been elected district president while former municipal corporation chairman Chaudhry Tufail secretary-general.

In tehsil Gujrat, Azmat Syed has been elected president and Advocate Chaudhry Tauseef Liaquat secretary-general.

In Gujrat city, Chaudhry Safdar Warriach has been elected president and Chaudhry Irshad Ahmad secretary-general.

Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmad has been elected president while Raja Zulfiqar Ahmad secretary-general in Kharian tehsil.

Speaking on the occasion, party’s district President Chaudhry Wajahat Husain expressed hope the candidates backed by the PML(QA) would won most of the seats in the general elections.

Police also recovered 175 bottles of liquor from the possession of Faisal, Nadeem and Abid.

Meanwhile, thieves took away a motorcycle (GTF-3666) of Abdur Rashid in the limits of Civil Lines police station here on Friday.
