KARACHI, July 26: A spokesman for the Governor’s House, Karachi, has denied a news item appearing in a section of the press that politically-motivated transfers and postings are being made in Sindh.

He said the news item was baseless, misleading and had nothing to do with facts. He added that the government was impartial.

Transfers, postings and promotions were being made on the basis of merit, ability, experience and keeping in view the requirements of good governance, he maintained.

The government had no political agenda nor it supported or opposed any political party or group, the spokesman claimed, saying recent transfers and postings had been made as a matter of routine.

He said the present government had taken up long overdue pending cases of promotions of employees, their ACRs had been completed, meetings of departmental promotion committees had been held and a few of them got further assignments after promotion.

“Working on different assignments in various areas increases employees’ ability and adds to their experience,” the spokesman said. He said there had been no bulk transfers. — PPI
