National karate from Aug 23

HYDERABAD, July 24: Secretary, Sindh Karate Association, Syed Sakhawat Ali, Wednesday announced that three-day 13th National Karate Championship will be held from Aug 23 at Lahore.

He said besides the events of team kumite, individual and team kata, the karatekas will also participate in individual kumite in different categories of under-55 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 80 kg, above 80 kg and open contest. He said trials for holding Sindh trials has been fixed for Aug 4 at 3 pm at Mehran Arts Council, Latifabad.

Meanwhile Secretary, Pakistan Karate Federation, Muhammed Jahangir announced that the federation will organize a Course/Examination for karate referees and judges from Aug 9 at National Sports Training and Coaching Centre, Lahore.—APP
