HYDERABAD, July 23: Hyderabad District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman has said he has written letters to National Reconstruction Bureau Chairman Tanveer Hussain Naqvi and Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro, lodging protest against the uncalled-for behaviour of the newly-inducted provincial ministers.

Speaking at the session of the district council here on Tuesday, the district Nazim said the ministers were supposed only to look after the affairs of their ministries.

He said he had told the NRB chief the devolution system was introduced by him and he could spoil or make it workable.

He asserted although the district council was a non-political forum but most of its members belonged to a particular political group, adding it would be better for the Sindh ministers not to take part in active politics like district council members.

The district Nazim said he had talked to the Sindh chief secretary about the overflowing of Phuleli Canal and hoped that the situation would improve soon.
