LAHORE, July 22: A film actress and her brother-in-law escaped unhurt when two unidentified men allegedly opened fire on them early on Monday morning.

Waseem Butt told the Allama Iqbal Town police that he and Saima, the sister of his wife, were on way home from the Bari Studio when the gunmen intercepted them in Zeenat Block.

Waseem claimed the armed men opened fire on them without saying anything. “We escaped unhurt,” he said.

The actress told the police she had no enmity. A case was registered with no arrest.

ACCIDENT: Two people were killed in accidents in the city on Monday.

Ejaz, 35, was going to his office when a speeding oil tanker hit his motorcycle on Ravi Road. He sustained serious injuries and died on way to a nearby hospital.

Shafiqabad police impounded the oil tanker and registered a case against its absconding driver.

The body was handed over to the family without autopsy.

An unidentified man, around 60, was killed when a bus hit him on Ravi Road. He died instantly.

The body was sent to the city mortuary. Shahdara police registered a case against the absconding bus driver.
