BAHAWALNAGAR, July 22: Thieve(s) on Sunday night took away ornaments and valuables worth Rs0.8 million from a house in Faisal Colony.

Rana Rashid was not present in his house at the time of theft.

A case has been registered.

DIES: A woman whose husband threw acid on her some days ago died on Sunday in Faqirwali.

Shamim Akhtar had alleged in her statement before death that her husband Habib along with his accomplices Sadiq and Guddu hurled acid on her after she refused to turn to prostitution.

Police have already registered a case against them.

SHOT DEAD: Two highwaymen on Monday shot dead a man on resistance during a robbery in Chishtian.

Abdul Latif and his brother Hanif of 224/9-R were on their way home by motorcycle when robbers intercepted them near Chak 16/Gijyani and snatched Rs20,000 from them. They fired at Latif for putting up resistance. He sustained injuries and was rushed to a local hospital where he died. The robbers managed to escape from the scene.

A case has been registered against the absconding robbers.
