KARACHI, Sept 9 A good all-round showing by Adnan Khan enabled the Royal of Scotland (RBS) to surprise Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) by 28 runs in the fifth AKU Sports Centre Twenty20 Ramazan Colour-kit cricket tournament at the AKU Ground on Tuesday.

The RBS, batting first, were bowled out for 153 on the final ball of their innings. Raheel Waris was the chief run-getter with 45 off 26 deliveries with eight boundaries. Skipper Salman Sarwar Butt (23 off 17 balls, four fours) and Adnan Khan (22 with three fours and one six) also made invaluable contributions.

After losing their most influential player Usman Farhat, who made 23 off 18 balls with three sixes, DIB lost ground before ultimately reaching 125-9 despite Ammar Zaidi making 46 (28 balls, four fours and two sixes).

RBS off-spinner Adnan, later adjudged man-of-the-match, finished with three wickets for 28. Medium-pacer Raheel Sayani (2-15) and off-spinner Mohtashim Ali (2-25) also bowled well.

Despite this defeat, DIB are poised to reach the final with four wins in six matches of the five-team double league tournament. Hosts AKU Staff lead the standings with four victories in as many games thus far.
