RAWALPINDI, July 20: The educational qualification set for the recruitment of teachers in the primary schools, running under the district government, would be graduation with some professional degree in education, said officials here on Friday.

They said over 2,000 vacancies of teachers would be filled before the end of summer vacations.

The district Nazim, Raja Tariq Kiani, said this step would revolutionise the education system in the district. “We are striving to bring the standard of the district schools at par with those of the model education institutions of the federal capital,” he added.

He said his administration was giving highest priority to education after health. He said during this year the district government would provide buildings to all shelterless schools.
