ISLAMABAD Writers and broadcasters on Wednesday paid tribute to late Syed Saleh Muhammad Shah, popularly known as 'Fateh Khan' in Sindh and abroad, said a press release.
'Today we mourn the loss of Syed Saleh Muhammad Shah the greatest Radio broadcasters, who used to recite Shah Jo Risalo and devotee of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, whose gifted voice ruled over the hearts of Radio listeners,' said Asadullah Khan Mungrani, an intellectual from Balochistan, in a literary gathering arranged under the auspices of Pakistan Intellectual Forum (PIF), in connection with his death anniversary.
Noted short-story writer Muhammed Wasim said that Syed Saleh Mohammad Shah was legendary traditional 'Kachehry' (informal session) host, who was not only the voice of Radio Hyderabad but such an exceptional broadcaster who treated broadcasting as worship.
While paying tribute to late Shah Sahib, Hashim Abro of the PIF said that he was not only an eminent scholar, sufi but also a mobile Shah-Jo- Risalo who preached through broadcasting and in practical life, love, peace, compassion, truth, justice and harmony.
Abro said that late Syed Mohammad Shah was an intellectual par excellence who used to guide people of Sindh through his traditional wisdom. 'Late Shah Sahib was, in fact, rural and spiritual broadcasting specialist,' he concluded.
