PESHAWAR, July 15: The All Tribal Students Federation has decided to observe a hunger strike to protest against the Punjab government which has been delaying granting admission to FATA students to the medical colleges in the province.

A press release issued here on Monday said that the candidates and their parents would observe a hunger strike in front of the presidency in Islamabad on July 22, against an “indifferent attitude” of the Punjab government.

In the wake of a Supreme Court’s decision, the federal secretary of the state and frontier regions sent a list of the candidates to the Punjab health secretary, directing him to provide admission to the deserving candidates.

However, the Punjab government has yet to comply with the directive.
