LARKANA, July 15: Six men, including a policeman, were injured when bandits opened fire on a car, a passenger bus and police near Khairpur Juso on late Sunday night.

A gang of highwaymen fired at a car heading towards Nasirabad after the driver ignored their signal to stop his vehicle and instead speeded it. As a result Sikandar Ali was injured.

Shortly after the incident, a Karachi-bound bus reached the spot and that also came under the bandits’ fire in which four passengers — Mohammed Hanif Shaikh, Iftekhar Panhwar, Hubdar Ali Mirbahar and Abdul Sattar — received bullet injuries.

In the meantime, a police mobile also reached the site. The police fired at the bandits who retaliated.

A policeman, Ghulam Qadir Soomro, was injured in the firing while the bandits escaped the scene.

Those injured were shifted to the Chandka Medical College Hospital here.
