LAHORE, July 25 While Sara Khan and Farzana Saleem are set to meet in the final of the Amir Abdullah Khan Rokhri badminton tournament, the men's singles semi-final was still in progress at the New Khan Hall here on Saturday.

Sara upset the top-ranked Ayesha Akram in the first semi-final, while Farzana also earned a stunning victory against national champion Palwasha Bashir in the second pre-final.

Both semi-finals stretched to three games.

Sara lost the first game to Ayesha 15-21, before coming back into the game to win the next two games 21-14, 21-19 and seal the fate of the match.

Farzana made a fine start against Palwasha winning the first game 21-17 but lost the second sluggishly 6-21. She managed a good come back winning the crucial third game after a see-saw 21-18 fight.Ayesha Akram and Palwasha Bashir, however, have a chance to win a title as both entered the women's doubles final. The pair has defeated Sara Khan and Sara Mohmand 21-17,17-21, 21-9 in the first semi-final. Ayesha and Palwasha will meet the pair of Sadia Arshad-Aneeqa Rana, who carved out victory against Sidra Hameed-Khizra Arshad 21-13, 21-16.
