ISLAMABAD, July 22 Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has approved the appointment of Tauqir Sadiq as chairman of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra). A notification about his appointment for a four-year term was issued on Wednesday.

The post has been lying vacant since the retirement of the authority's first chairman Munir Ahmad retired in October last year. Mr Sadiq is brother-in-law of PPP's secretary-general Jehangir Badar and was recently employed in the Wah Ordnance Factories. He served as registrar of Ogra a few years ago.
