Chanceless century by Dilshan

COLOMBO, July 13: Test cap Tillekeratne Dilshan hit a chanceless century as Sri Lanka ‘A’ scored an imposing 382 for 9 wickets in their first innings on opening day of their three day tour match against Bangladesh at Moratuwa Stadium here.

Dilshan produced a class act and struck twenty boundaries from 266 minutes of batting time while completing a superb knock of 136.

Together with Anushka Polonowita they added 110 runs for fifth wicket and fully exploited Bangladesh attack during second session. Polonowita’s contribution was 34 which included four boundaries.

Sri Lanka ‘A’ innings received tremendous boost in final session with two all rounders Kaushal Lokuarachchi and Ravindra Pushpakumara destroying Bangladesh attack with some big hitting.

Pushpakumara smashed 32 runs with help of four sixes and one four while Lokuarachchi made 45 inclusive of ten fours. Their eighth wicket stand of 55 runs came in just 36 minutes.

Earlier Sri Lanka ‘A’ made a promising start after being put into bat with Jehan Mubarak contributing 42 runs with seven boundaries. Alamgir Kabir and Fahim were most successful bowlers for Bangladesh with three wickets each.—PPI
