KARACHI: Fishermen’s insurance

KARACHI, Nov 3: The Fishermen’s Cooperative Society has announced the launching of the fishermen insurance scheme with enhanced amount of payment to families of fishermen in case of accidents.

A signing ceremony will be held on November 5 between the FCS and the Shaheen Insurance Company. Under the scheme the insurance company would be liable to pay Rs2 million to fishermen’s families in case of any mishap. Earlier, the Karachi Fisheries Harbour Authority had launched an insurance scheme and around 43,000 fishermen were insured.—PPI
