HYDERABAD, July 10: The Agriculture Extension and Research, Sindh, has established the ‘Foundation Seed Cell’ to fulfil the requirements of quality seed.

This was stated by Dr Qazi Suleman, director general, Agriculture Extension and Research, Sindh, at a meeting with the Sindh Abadgar Board (SAB) held here on Tuesday. The objective of the meeting was to enhance direct interaction with the farming community.

Dr Suleman informed that in this season, enough cotton had been sown on the agriculture research farms which, he hoped, would meet the seed requirements of the province.

He said efforts were being made to ensure availability of quality seed of wheat, rice and other crops, adding that farmers’ cooperation was necessary to achieve these tasks.

He said the department would constitute committees, consisting of farmers and researchers, which would give suggestions to speed up research work and get better results.
