KARACHI, July 10: The PPP has termed the conviction of Benazir Bhutto by a Punjab accountability court as part of victimization campaign launched against the national leadership of Pakistan.

In a press statement, CEC member of the PPP Nawab Mohammad Yousuf Talpur said that the government has chosen special courts in Punjab to convict the democratic leadership of the country, which is unacceptable to the people.

He said that the political parties are not government departments where heads are appointed by elected or un-elected rulers. He made it clear that Benazir Bhutto was the unanimous leader of the PPP and would remain life chairperson of the party under any circumstances.—PPI
