Published July 9, 2002

PARACHINAR, July 8: Seven people were killed and another was critically injured when two groups exchanged fire over a clash on water at Alisherzai area of FR Kurram on Sunday.

Some children were playing in a pond when some inhabitants of the area stopped them from polluting the water. The children informed their parents about the happening after which an exchange of hot words took place between both the groups.

The arguments led both the parties to start firing at each other. The deceased were identified as Zaruddin, Kukikhel, Mohammad Baz, Bahadur, Khan Sahib and Mullah. The seventh deceased was a woman whose name could not be ascertained.
