KARACHI, July 7: All the 18 Town committees have finalized emergency measures to prevent disasters during the monsoon season and have expedited cleanliness work on leftover stormwater drains.

This was informed by senior administration of the Town committees to DCO Karachi, Shafiq-ur-Rehman Piracha, during his tour of the Town on Sunday to review the emergency measures for expected rains.

The DCO held separate meetings with the administration at their respective Town offices and directed other effective steps in this regard.

He further directed the officials of Town committees to expedite work of cleanliness on war-footing.

The DCO also took notice of the rising cases of stray dog bites and it was decided that the health department of the City Government will meet the requirements of the Towns.—APP
