PESHAWAR, July 6: The launching ceremony for a Pushto poetry book was held under the auspices of the Pushto branch of the Pakistan Academy of Letters at the Iranian Consulate on Friday.

Khuboona Taberoona (Dreams and Interpretations) has been written by a young poet, Faridoon Khan. Also a painter, Faridoon has designed the title page himself.

Writers, journalists and intellectuals paid tribute to the poet for authoring his second book. The 97-page book is composed of ghazals, rubai, nazms, and a lot more.

Faridoon seems impressed by the late Pushto poet, Abdul Ghani Khan, as is evident from his imaginative style. His strong observation of society would compel readers to finish the book in one go because of his narrative and easy-to-understand style. Unlike many other poets, Faridoon has avoided exaggeration of picturesque falsehood.

Also, Faridoon expresses concern over the leadership crisis in this part of the world and advocates national unity to regain the lost glory of Pakhtoon. Patriotism, he says, is the solution to all problems faced by the Pakhtoon. The book is a useful addition to the Pushto language.
