QUETTA, May 13 The Balochistan election tribunal has ordered recounting of votes for National Assembly seat NA-271 (Kharan-cum-Washak) on the appeal of the runner-up candidate, former governor Qadir Baloch.

The tribunal headed by Justice Akhtar Zaman Malghani of the Balochistan High Court directed on Wednes- day the counsel to be present during counting of votes on May 16.

The tribunal was informed that recounting could not take place at an earlier date because of absence of some representatives of contesting parties.

It ordered that recounting be carried out on the said date whether the representatives of parties were present or not.

The appellant has challenged the victory of Ehsanullah Reki in the election.
