KARACHI, July 5: Awam pulled off a major surprise in second NBP Inter-media cricket tournament when they defeated year 2000 runners-up Jasarat by 38 runs at PCB Academy Ground Friday.

Jasarat’s Muzaffar Ejaz produced the best bowling performance by snapping up five wickets for 24 runs but failed to save his team from defeat.

Awam made 143 in 23.1 overs with Amjad Malik hitting three sixes and two fours in his 50. Jasarat in reply were dismissed for 105 in 19.5 overs.

Radio Pakistan inflicted a crushing 117 runs defeat on Roznama Express in another match at the same ground.

Radio Pakistan made 165 for nine in their 25 overs. Express in reply crashed to 48 all out in the 18th over.

At NBP Sports Complex Ground, daily Khabrain beat Qaumi Akhbar by six wickets. Leg spinner Atif Naeem took four wickets for 27 runs to bowl Khabrain to victory.
