KARACHI: Water pollution

Published July 6, 2002

KARACHI, July 5: PMA is deeply concerned over the increasing level of potable water pollution in the city.

The rising level of water pollution is the cause of a number of gastrointestinal problems among the people who are brought to public and private hospitals daily and in great numbers. Children living in inner parts of the city are also extremely vulnerable to this hazardous situation. The PMA has appealed to the City Nazim to take cognizance of the situation, particularly in areas where drinking water is getting polluted by sewage.—PPI
