PESHAWAR, Nov 2: Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), NWFP, has expressed deep sorrow and anguish over the brutal murder of Dr Javed Iqbal and has termed it an act to disrupt the doctors community from functioning.

In a press statement here on Friday, the provincial president of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Dr Umar Ayub Khan, said that there was a growing sense of insecurity amongst the doctors.

He said that the killing of Dr Javed and snatching his car at gun point shows that the assassins were ruthless people trying to disrupt the doctors community from functioning.

“It cannot be said for sure that these people are not one of those terrorists who want to create disharmony and lawlessness in the country”, he stated.

He appealed to the governor NWFP to take note of this situation so that the culprits are not only brought to the justice but punishment given to them in the shortest period of time.
