Zardari arrives in Libya

TRIPOLI, April 30 President Asif Ali Zardari arrived here on Thursday on a three-day visit.

He was received at the airport by Libyan Defence Minister Gen Abu Bakr Younis Al Jabi and Minister for Economy Mohammad Ali Al Huwayz. A contingent of Libyan armed forces presented a guard of honour and national anthems of Pakistan and Libya were played.

President Zardari`s delegation includes the ministers for information, defence, religious affairs, labour and defence production and the advisers on petroleum and finance.

He will hold two rounds of talks with Libyan leader Moammar Qadhafi and also meet the prime minister, ministers, notables and businessmen.

The countries are expected to sign memorandums of understanding for cooperation in human resource development, culture and information, employment, higher education, political consultation and visa abolition and an extradition treaty.—APP
