Carla, Bushra meet in final

ISLAMABAD, July 3: Carla Khan and Bushra Haider set up an all-Sindh clash in the final of the 8th PC BhurbanNational Women’s Squash Championship after both won their semifinals in contrasting styles.

Carla scored a straightforward 9-0, 9-0, 9-0 victory over Punjab’s Nadia Aziz in the first pre-final while Bushra Haider dropped a game before recovering to knock out team-mate Irum Jehan 0-9, 9-6, 9-5, 9-3.

In the quarterfinals also played Wednesday, Carla was again ruthless, thrashing Punjab’s Sara Awan without dropping a point 9-0, 9-0, 9-0. Nadia Aziz beat Shumaila of NWFP 9-6, 9-0, 9-4 and then Irum outplayed Punjab’s Aalia Sarfraz 9-0, 9-5, 9-0. It was a comfortable passage through to the finals for Bushra as she outplayed Punjab’s Aamna Anjum 9-0, 9-1, 9-1.
