PRIVATIZATION DEFERRED: The Privatization Commission has deferred the decision to privatize the Pak-Saudi Fertilizer Factory.

Seven unions of Pak-Saudi Fertilizer Factory, Multan, National Fertilizer Marketing, Lahore, Pak-American Fertilizer Corporation, Lahore, and Pak-Saudi Fertilizer, Karachi branch, sent memorandums to Gen Pervaiz Musharraf to review once again the issue of the privatization of th factory.

They said Pak-Saudi Fertilizer was the only unit in the public sector which was giving 100 per cent production and was fetching one billion rupees for the factory, and in the last 10 years, had had yielded more than 11 billion rupees for the exchequer, besides huge amounts in the shape of taxes.

The privatization of such a remunerative factory was not advisable, they said.
