PESHAWAR, July 3: The Provincial Local Government Commission on Tuesday heard the parties in a dispute over vehicle ownership between Kohat and Hangu district governments.

The meeting also reviewed the levy of taxes on brick kilns by the union council Azakhel, Nowshera district, according to an official statement.

The meeting, which was attended by members of the commission, was presided over by NWFP minister for local government, rural development and law, Athar Minallah.

In the vehicles case, the commission decided that the same would be returned to the NWFP education secretary, who would issue fresh orders for its allotment. In case of re-distribution of vehicles in Kohat, the district Nazim would be consulted and if it was a matter of two districts, then both district Nazimeen would be taken into confidence, the meeting decided.
