KARACHI, July 2: Leader of the eight-member Thai trade delegation, Ajua Tavlanda said that Thai entrepreneurs are ready to enter into joint ventures in auto parts, garments, chemicals and food processing in Pakistan, besides interested in setting up of refineries and construction of dams.

Talking to the FPCCI delegation at the Federation House on Tuesday, he said Thailand and Pakistan can be a good trading partner in the region.

Ajua, who is chairman Board of Trade Thailand and Thai Chamber of Commerce, accompanying the prime minister of Thailand, also offered local businessmen to invest in food processing units as his country had enough fruit surplus and Pakistani companies could export the processed fruit to the Muslim countries.

Earlier, FPCCI president, Iftikhar Ali Malik invited the Thai investors to collaborate with private sector of Pakistan in undertaking joint projects in the reconstruction of Afghanistan.

He said Pakistan can also provide technical expertise and manpower to Thailand in the field of information technology. He said Thailand can increase import of textile fabrics, ready made garments, fruit juices, pharmaceutical goods, surgical goods, sports goods spices, pickles and small engineering and electrical items from Pakistan.

Pakistan can import synthetic filament, staple fibres, rubber products, plastic goods, polymer, chemical products and paper from Thailand, he added.
