KARACHI, July 1: The Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA), during its demolition operation against illegal constructions, demolished the upper floors of two buildings in Napier Quarters and Shaheed-i-Millat Road, near Hill Park here on Monday.

A KBCA statement said the illegally-constructed sixth floor of a building, situated on plot number 4 NP-3, was demolished and the walls of the 5th floor of the buildings were also hammered down.

It said people of the area gathered on the site and tried to obstruct the demolition but the KBCA personnel continued their job.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of Area Controller of Buildings Saghir Ahmed and Deputy Controller Mazhar Iqbal.

On Shaheed-i-Millat Hill Park area, the illegally-built 5th floor of a building on PP-4 Block 7 and 7 KCH Union was demolished.

This building was among the 260 buildings sealed in 1996.

This action was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Controller Mohammad Fahim and Assistant Controller Raqueeb.—APP
