WASHINGTON, June 30: President George W. Bush said on Sunday he felt “great” and had enjoyed a morning run, less than 24 hours after a routine colon check that found nothing abnormal.

“I feel great,” he told the press on the White House lawn.

“I got up this morning, went for a nice run, went to church.”

Bush underwent the 20-minute colon examination on Saturday, after having ceded power to Vice President Dick Cheney for two hours and 15 minutes because he was sedated.

No abnormalities were found, Bush’s doctor said.

“I don’t have to have this procedure for another five years,” Bush said, adding that everyone over the age of 50 should undergo the same procedure.—AFP
