KARACHI, June 24: City Nazim, Naimatullah Khan, has said that he has met the Nazims and Naib Nazims of Towns and Union Councils, along with the KWSB officials as per resolutions of the City Council to solve the city’s water problems.

He stated this during a visit to Jamshed Town — the 11th Town visited by him — on Monday, where he addressed the Town and UC Nazims, Naib Nazims and councillors and exchanged views with them.

The UC Nazims stressed that many minor problems would get resolved if the KWSB officials came into contact with the elected representatives.

They complained that cattle-pens have been provided water from water lines, whereas the entire UC of Manzoor Colony has not been getting water for the last one year.

Similarly, they pointed to water problems in Akhtar Colony, Kashmir Colony, Mahmoodabad, Chanesar Goth, Shoe Market, PECHS, Lines Area, and said these should be resolved.

The KWSB officials assured that supply of water to Manzoor Colony from an alternate pipeline would be given due consideration.

Addressing the meeting, Naimatullah Khan called for the elimination of contamination from water on preferential basis.

He regretted that the recovery of water dues from Jamshed Town is merely 10 per cent. He asked the councillors to play their due role in this regard.—APP
