KARACHI, June 23: National Democratic Party chief Umer Ashghar Khan on Sunday lauded the government for promulgating an ordinance, making it mandatory for candidates to national and provincial assemblies to be graduates.

He said it would provide better opportunities to the youth to lead the nation.

Speaking at a party meeting, he also welcomed the government decision to lower the voters’ age limit to 18 years and termed it a landmark step.

He said both the decisions would provided an open field for the youth to play their role in the development of the country.

Umer Asghar assured the government that his party would support its every decision if it is voted to power by the masses.

He said that the country was heading towards an economic revaluation.—PPI
