LAHORE, Feb 4 A six-member Pakistan badminton squad will participate in the Al-Fajr International tournament to be held in Tehran, Iran from Thursday to Sunday.

Top ranked Wajid Ali, Mohammad Waqas, Mohammad Attique and Rizwan Azam are the part of the men team while Ayesha Akram and Sara Khan represent the women team. Sixteen countries are participating in the World Ranking tournament.

This is the seventh time that Pakistani players are participating in this competition.

Pakistani players have given good performance in the past. Wajid won the gold medal in the singles event in 2006 while other players reached the semi-finals of both men singles and doubles.

The squad left from Karachi on Wednesday. If Pakistani pair of Rizwan Azam and Attique Chaudhry win the doubles title then they will be having a bright chance to qualify for World Championship 2009.
