HYDERABAD, June 19: A large number of students of the Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam, under the banner of Shagird Ittehad staged a protest march from the central canteen upto the crop production faculty against the policies of the vice chancellor.

Addressing the rally, leaders of Shagird Ittehad, Suleman Veesar, Haider Shah, Jani Bhutto and others, said that due to the indifferent attitude of Vice Chancellor Dr Basheer Ahmed Chandio classes had not been started even after eight months.

They said that due to non-availability of chemicals, the field and practical work was at a stand still.

They threatened to continue protest if the vice chancellor did not change his attitude.

Meanwhile, 19 students of the university belonging to the “Azad Student Alliance” in a joint statement have said that some students who were “saleable commodity” were trying to create hindrances in the supplementary examination and disrupting the peaceful academic atmosphere.

They claimed that the university administration had taken a number of steps to save the precious time of the students.
