PESHAWAR, June 18: The Peshawar Press Club has decided to take the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) to the court of law for its unlawful act of disconnecting power supply to the PPC and treating it a defaulter.
According to a PPC statement, the club had paid its Rs63,461 bill for the month of May along with outstanding amount on time, but a Pesco official, Usman, got the power supply to the club disconnected on Friday. Pesco restored the power, when the PPC furnished the paid bill to the authorities.
After two days, SDO Cantonment area Usman charged Rs2,500 as fine on the PPC, which was not only an illegal act, but aimed at defaming the club as a defaulter body.
The PPC has announced that it will initiate legal action.
