COLOMBO, June 18: The vice chancellor and six Deans of the Jaffna University have been summoned by the LTTE hierarchy for an urgent meeting to be held at the LTTE headquarters on Wednesday.

The university dons were not informed as to why the LTTE had summoned them but merely asked by the Tigers Jaffna office to be present at the headquarters.

They are expected to meet the head of the LTTE’s political wing, Thamilchelvam.

It is assumed that the Tigers, who have embarked on “political activities” in the North and East, will brief the dons on “pre-peace talk” pro-LTTE campaigning, including motivation of student groups to organize student meetings based on the “Tamil self-determination” thinking.
