KARACHI, June 17: Pakistan Railway is running a ‘Summer holiday train’ between Karachi and Lahore for the convenience of holiday-makers.

The deputy divisional superintendent of the Railways’ Karachi division, Mir Mohammed Khaskheli, said on Monday that the train would start operation on Tuesday.

It will run between Karachi and Lahore on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, leaving Karachi cantonment station at 3pm, Mr Khaskheli said.

He said the train operation, launched two years back, had now become a permanent feature following the success it earned, specially from students who go to upcountry destinations for summer holidays with their parents.

The official said the train would comprise 14 refurbished economy class coaches having a capacity for 1,250 passengers. It will have stoppages at all the major railway stations.—APP
