COLOMBO, June 17: A fortnight after the demise of Tamil United Liberation Front’s chief Sivasithambaram, the senior vice- president of the party, Anandashangari has embarked on a journey to the LTTE-controlled region of Vanni to meet the Tiger hierarchy.

He plans to seek the ‘advise’ of the Tiger leadership on the current political situation.

Anandashangari, who left for Vanni with a list of names of candidates, is expected to meet the LTTE political wing leader Thamilchelvam.

Sources from the North East point out that the LTTE had already given its blessing for the appointment of Thurairathnasingham, a Northern TULF supporter, to represent the party in the parliament.

Meanwhile, the All Ceylon Tamil Congress (ACTC) member of parliament, Appathurai Vinayagamoorthy, is to meet the LTTE leadership this week to discuss a host of legal issues pertaining to the proposed interim administration.
