SWABI, Oct 31: Leaders of religious and political parties have castigated the US defence secretary Donald Rumsfeld’s  plea for using nuclear weapons against Taliban to achieve their objectives.

Leaders of the Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, Al-Badr, Jamaat- i-Islami, JUI, Jaish-i-Mohammad and leader of defence council  of defence council for Afghanistan and Pakistan said the US had considered itself  the most civilised nation  and  custodian of human rights, but it dropped nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Prominent  leaders of the Swabi Qaumi Mahaz Dr Salim, JUI  (F) Najeeb Khan, JI’s Mohammad Usman, JUI (S)  Syed Maqbool Shah Bukhari and leaders of Jihadi organisation who  were speaking in the Rabita programme of Abaseen Union of Journalists.

Looking  to Washington previous track record, the dropping  of unclear bomb on

Afghanistan could not be ruled out which would shake its might.

They claimed that before the using of nuclear weapons, the  US had already used chemical and biological weapons as those who had returned from the war were suffering from different   diseases.

They urged the UN, OIC, Commonwealth and other humanitarian organizations to take notice the statement of the US defence secretary and  its repercussions on the world peace.
