RAWALPINDI, June 16: Police arrested three leaders of Pakistan Muslim League PML, who had been granted bail yesterday by the court of law, from Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Sunday night.

The arrest of Zafar Ali Shah senior vice-president PML-N, Farooq Khattak, and Maqbool Ahmed came about late on Sunday night after the police made an amendment and added a section of the anti- terrorist act in the FIR, already lodged against 15 leaders and workers of the PML.

The FIR was registered on Friday night after PML-N workers and police clashed at Fawara Chowk during a demonstration defying the ban on such gatherings.

A police party led by the SP CIA police, DSP City and two inspectors of Rawalpindi police raided Pakistan Muslim League secretariat in Islamabad late on Sunday night and arrested the three leaders.

The police are also looking for other PML workers including Shahid Riaz Satti, Mohammad Riaz Gujjar, doctor Iyaz, Mohammad Rauf, Zareef, Raja Mehfooz, Syed Zaigum Shah, Mirza Mansoor, Babar Awan and Shafiq.

Zafar Ali Shah and Saddiq-ul-Farooq had already been granted bail by the court of a Civil Judge on Saturday. Both the leaders were booked by police in the Friday incident.
